Use this draft guide to move your processed PrintedEdges template into Vellum, check page-border coverage, and prepare a finished export.

Download Your Template

Open the purchased project and save the processed template without changing its filename.

Add It In Vellum

Use Vellum's Background and Border controls to add the template as a custom page border.

Review And Export

Inspect the complete book in Print preview before exporting the production file.

Before You Begin

Collect the template and confirm the book details before changing anything in Vellum.

  • Use the Vellum Template project that matches this book's trim size and page count.
  • Download the purchased production file from the Available Downloads area in Projects.
  • Keep the downloaded filename unchanged so Vellum can read the template settings correctly.
  • Open the correct Vellum book project before adding the new page border.

Apply The Template

Download The Correct File

Open the purchased project and download the Final PDF (Processed PDF) template to a location you can easily find.

Open Background And Border

In the matching Vellum book, open the book style controls and navigate to Background and Border.

Add A Custom Page Border

Select the unchanged template file, apply it to the entire book, and set the multipage repeat option to all pages.

Review And Export

Switch Vellum to Print preview, inspect the edge artwork throughout the book, confirm the print color setting, and export.

Review The Finished Book

Complete this final check before sending the exported file to a print provider.

  • The page border covers the intended pages and repeats through the entire book.
  • The edge artwork faces the expected direction and does not cover important page content.
  • The trim size, page count, bleed, and color settings match the planned print project.
  • The exported PDF passes the PrintedEdges PDF Validator before printer upload.
